According to Basic Education Minister, Angie Motshekga, 67.2 percent of South African matriculants passed their examinations at the end of 2010. Of these, only 23 percent qualified for a university entrance.
Furthermore, only 15% of these university entrants will actually graduate from university - making South Africa's graduation rate one of the lowest in the world.
ALL EVIDENCE POINTS TO THE FACT THAT WE MUST EQUIP OUR YOUTH WITH AN ENTREPRENEURIAL HEART, MIND AND SKILLS TO ADDRESS THE POVERTY-RELATED ISSUES IN THEIR LIVES, FROM AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.
